Dow Jones Rebounds on Phone Call and Semiconductor Strength

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.28% to near 52,480, recovering a small portion of Wednesday's Gulf-driven losses, boosted by a phone call and strength in semiconductor stocks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded near 52,480 on Thursday, up approximately 0.28%, clawing back only a fraction of the decline from the previous session. The rebound was supported by a phone call and borrowed strength from the semiconductor sector.

Wednesday's drop was attributed to Gulf-related factors, the details of which remain unspecified. Thursday's modest recovery leaves the index still below the prior close.

Market participants are monitoring whether this upward move can sustain momentum, with semiconductor stocks providing a temporary tailwind.
