British Pound Rises as US-Iran Peace Deal Boosts Sentiment

GBP/USD gained ground on Tuesday, trading around 1.3450 in Asian hours, as improved market sentiment on a US-Iran peace deal lifted the pound.

GBPUSD

The British pound strengthened against the US dollar on Tuesday, reversing minor losses from the previous session. GBP/USD was trading near 1.3450 during Asian trading hours.

The move higher was fueled by a broad improvement in market risk appetite after news of a US-Iran peace deal. The agreement removed a key geopolitical risk, prompting investors to shift into currencies perceived as higher beta, such as sterling.

No additional catalysts are expected in the near term, with traders eyeing further updates on the peace deal's implementation and upcoming economic data from both the UK and the US.
