Binance Disputes Report of Imminent MiCA License Rejection in Greece

Binance pushes back against a Reuters report claiming Greek regulators are poised to deny its MiCA crypto license, saying its application has been deemed compliant and that a final decision is pending.

Binance has publicly contested a Reuters report published June 16, which cited two sources indicating that Greece's Capital Market Commission is preparing to reject the exchange's application for a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license.

The exchange stated that its application review has been completed and that the submission was found to be compliant with MiCA requirements. Binance emphasized it has received no formal notice of rejection and promised to provide an update on the status by June 30.

According to Reuters, the Greek regulator declined to comment on the ongoing review, citing confidentiality rules. However, CoinDesk reported, citing a Binance representative, that the Greek regulator has informed the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) of its intention to grant the license at the next board meeting.
