Bessent Reaffirms US Opposition to Central Bank Digital Currency

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reiterated the administration's firm stance against the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

"There will be no Central Bank Digital Currency, which I think would be the first step toward tracking," Bessent said, according to a report. The statement reinforces the government's ongoing opposition to a digital dollar.
