Weekend Markets: Equities Edge Higher as Oil Drops 3.6%

Major global stock indices posted modest gains over the weekend, while US crude oil fell sharply. Precious metals also advanced, with silver leading the way.

Stock markets across the US, Europe, and Asia closed the weekend session with small increases. The NASDAQ led the advances, gaining 0.54%, followed by the DAX (+0.30%), the Dow Jones (+0.24%), the FTSE (+0.10%), and the Hang Seng (+0.03%).

In the currency market, EUR/USD edged up 0.08%. Commodities presented a mixed picture: gold rose 0.48% and silver added 0.60%, while US oil tumbled 3.61%, the only significant loss among the majors.
