USD Strengthens After Hawkish Fed Guidance, PCE Risks Ahead – DBS

The US Dollar has reached its highest level since May 2025, driven by hawkish Federal Open Market Committee guidance and upcoming PCE data risks, according to DBS Group Research.

DXY

The US Dollar Index (DXY) climbed to its strongest point since May 2025, supported by hawkish signals from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). DBS Group Research’s Philip Wee highlighted that recent Fed guidance has reinforced expectations of tighter monetary policy.

Investors are now focusing on the upcoming Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) data, which could influence the Fed’s next moves. If inflation remains sticky, the USD may extend its gains further.

The move reflects a broader market repricing of rate expectations, with the dollar benefiting from relative yield advantage and safe-haven demand.
