US Warns India on Strait of Hormuz Compliance, Oil Shipments

The US State Department has ordered all commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz to comply with US directives, warning India against any blockade violations or Iranian oil shipments.

The United States has issued a stern warning to India regarding maritime compliance in the Strait of Hormuz. According to a State Department statement, all commercial vessels must adhere to US orders in the strategic waterway, with Secretary of State Rubio reportedly telling Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar that Washington will not tolerate any violations of the blockade or shipments of Iranian oil.

The State Department further emphasized that US forces are actively seeking to maintain peace and security in the region. The move signals heightened US enforcement of sanctions against Iran and underscores the geopolitical risk to oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global crude flows.

The warning comes amid ongoing tensions between the US, Iran, and regional actors, with potential implications for oil supply and shipping insurance costs.
