US Sanctions Iranian Crypto Exchanges Nobitex, Wallex, Bitpin, Ramzinex

The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has sanctioned four Iranian cryptocurrency exchanges—Nobitex, Wallex, Bitpin, and Ramzinex—along with their executives, accusing them of sanctions evasion and terrorism financing.

OFAC added Nobitex, Wallex, Bitpin, and Ramzinex to its sanctions list. The US Treasury stated that in 2025, more than half of all digital asset inflows into Iran passed through Nobitex, which was used to circumvent sanctions and finance terrorism. The exchanges' executives were also targeted.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, "While Iran's economy is in free fall, the regime has chosen to use digital asset technology for corrupt purposes, including sanctions evasion and wealth extraction from the country."
