US Proposes Minimum 10% Tariffs on Imports from Major Trading Partners

The United States is reportedly proposing new tariffs of at least 10% on imports from most major trading partners, following an investigation into goods allegedly produced using forced labor.

According to a Bloomberg report, the US administration is moving to impose new tariffs of at least 10% on imports from the majority of its key trading partners. The measure follows an investigation into goods suspected of being produced with forced labor.

The proposal aligns with former President Donald Trump's efforts to rebuild tariff barriers. If enacted, the tariffs would significantly increase trade costs and could trigger retaliatory measures from affected countries.

  • No official announcement has been made yet
  • The investigation targets allegations of forced labor in supply chains
  • Economists warn of potential inflationary pressures
