US Releases Full Text of 14-Point MOU with Iran, 60-Day Negotiation Window
The US and Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining key terms including ceasefire, sanctions relief, oil waivers, and a $300 billion reconstruction fund, triggering a 60-day window for a final deal.
The United States has published the full text of a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding with Iran. The accord includes an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and mutual commitments to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Key economic provisions: The US will remove its naval blockade within 30 days and issue waivers for Iranian crude oil and related services. A $300 billion reconstruction and development plan is to be developed with regional partners. US frozen Iranian assets will be released, and the US Treasury will issue sanctions waivers for oil, derivatives, and associated banking and transportation.
On the nuclear front, Iran reaffirms it will not procure or develop nuclear weapons and agrees to address enriched material stockpiles under IAEA supervision. A final deal must be negotiated within 60 days, though the deadline may be extended. The final agreement would be endorsed by a UN Security Council resolution.
