Trump Staffer Accused of Insider Betting on Kalshi

ABC News reports that Donald Trump's teleprompter operator may have used nonpublic information about presidential speeches to place bets on Kalshi, profiting over $100,000. The platform alerted the CFTC, and the White House placed the employee on unpaid leave.

According to ABC News, sources allege that a teleprompter operator for Donald Trump used non-public knowledge of the president's speeches to place wagers on the prediction market platform Kalshi, with profits exceeding $100,000.

Kalshi reported the incident to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The White House has responded by placing the employee on unpaid leave pending further investigation.

The case highlights potential insider trading risks in prediction markets, where political events are traded like assets.
