Trump Slams New York for Halting Data Center Projects, Says Jobs and Taxes Lost to Other States

President Donald Trump criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul for terminating all data center construction in the state, claiming the move drives companies and economic benefits to other states like Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Arizona.

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to attack New York Governor Kathy Hochul's decision to halt data center projects in the state. Trump described data centers as "big, strong, bold" money machines that bring jobs and tax revenue, calling the lost income and employment "liquid gold."

According to Trump, companies that had planned data centers in New York are now being courted by states such as Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Arizona, where lower taxes and record-setting jobs await. He noted that these businesses pay for their own water and power, with any surplus benefiting the state and local community.

Trump urged New York to reverse its policy immediately, warning that the loss of data centers and AI technology could shift to China and other countries. The post did not provide specific figures on job or tax losses.
