Trump Calls Off Planned Strikes on Iran as Hormuz Talks Resume

President Trump reportedly halted planned military strikes on Iran, hours after Oman-mediated negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz restarted.

President Trump ordered the US military not to proceed with strikes on Iran that had been planned for Friday night, despite having previously approved the operation, according to a report by Axios. The last-minute reversal came amid revived diplomatic efforts.

Just hours earlier, talks mediated by Oman aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz reportedly resumed. The strait is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. The de-escalation signals a possible breakthrough in easing tensions between the two nations.
