Swiss Franc Dips on Unemployment Surprise, USD/CHF Rises 0.37%

The Swiss Franc weakened against the US Dollar on Monday following a surprise increase in Swiss unemployment. USD/CHF gained 0.37% to trade around 0.8060, as the US Dollar rebounded despite slightly softer expectations for further Fed tightening.

USDCHF

The Swiss Franc declined on Monday after a surprise uptick in Swiss unemployment data, pushing USD/CHF higher.

USD/CHF rose 0.37% on the day, trading near the 0.8060 level at the time of writing. The move was driven by a rebound in the US Dollar (USD), even as market expectations for additional Federal Reserve rate hikes softened modestly.

Traders are now weighing the impact of the employment figures on Swiss National Bank policy, while the dollar's resilience continues to weigh on the franc.
