SpaceX (ticker SPCX) is now trading above $220 per share in overnight trading, according to market reports. This values the company at approximately $2.9 trillion, less than $100 billion shy of Microsoft's market capitalization.
The stock has surged 63% from its IPO price of $135 per share. Combined with Tesla, the total market cap of both companies has reached a record $4.4 trillion, surpassing Apple and roughly matching Google's valuation.
Additionally, SpaceX raised a record $85.7 billion after underwriters exercised the "greenshoe" overallotment option. The scale of this IPO is unprecedented in history.
