Seychelles Court Orders KuCoin to Pay $2M Over Delisted CHP Tokens

A Seychelles court ruled that KuCoin cannot treat 21 million delisted CHP tokens as abandoned and ordered the exchange to pay a Swiss investor over $2 million. The investor says KuCoin has not yet paid and is preparing further legal action.

A court in Seychelles has ordered KuCoin entities to pay a Swiss investor more than $2 million after ruling that the exchange could not treat 21 million delisted CHP tokens as "abandoned."

The investor reportedly states that KuCoin has yet to comply with the court order and is preparing additional legal proceedings. KuCoin did not respond to requests for comment from Cointelegraph, which broke the story.

The case revolves around the status of tokens that were delisted from the exchange. The court's decision sets a precedent regarding ownership rights of digital assets held by exchanges after delisting events.
