Record $1.1B Volume in Leveraged S&P 500 and Chip ETFs
Combined trading volume in 3x leveraged S&P 500 and semiconductor ETFs hit a record $1.1 billion on Friday, more than quadrupling over recent sessions. Total US-listed option volumes also surged to 107 million contracts, the second-highest ever, signaling strong risk appetite.
Friday's session saw unprecedented activity in leveraged ETFs: the combined volume of $SPXL, $SPXS, $SOXL, and $SOXS reached $1.1 billion, surpassing the previous 2025 record by $250 million. Volume in these products has more than quadrupled over the last several trading days.
Simultaneously, total US-listed option volumes jumped to 107 million contracts, the second-highest on record. Call options accounted for 57.2 million of those (3rd highest daily), while put options hit 49.8 million (2nd highest). The data points to an extremely strong risk-on sentiment across markets.
