Mastercard Expands Regulated Stablecoin Settlements to Weekends and Holidays

Mastercard plans to extend instant settlement capabilities for regulated stablecoins to weekends and holidays, citing rising demand from institutional and business clients. The initiative will initially support USDC, PYUSD, RLUSD, and SoFiUSD.

Mastercard has announced an expansion of its regulated stablecoin operations, aiming to bring instant settlement services to weekends and holidays.

The move, driven by growing demand from institutional and business clients, will extend the current business-day-only settlement window to a near-24/7 schedule. The company did not specify a launch date but indicated the rollout would be phased.

Initially, the service will support the following stablecoins:

  • USDC (Circle)
  • PYUSD (PayPal)
  • RLUSD (Ripple)
  • SoFiUSD (SoFi)
