Iran Supreme Leader Approves US-Iran MOU After Security Assurances

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said he personally held a different view on the U.S.-Iran memorandum but approved it after receiving assurances from presidential and security officials that Iran's rights and the 'Resistance Front' would be protected.

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei disclosed that he had a personal differing opinion regarding the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU). However, he ultimately granted approval after obtaining guarantees from both presidential and security officials that Iran's national rights and the so-called 'Resistance Front' would be safeguarded.

This development signals a significant political move in Iran, with the supreme leader aligning with the executive branch despite initial reservations. The assurances provided center on protecting Iran's sovereign interests and its regional proxy networks, often referred to collectively as the Resistance Front.

The MOU's specifics remain undisclosed, but the statement underscores ongoing diplomatic and security negotiations between Iran and the United States.
