Iran State TV Details Strait of Hormuz Transit Rules Vessels Must Coordinate with Revolutionary Guards

Iran's state television stated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz still requires coordination with the Revolutionary Guards, and specified the safest transit routes for vessels entering and leaving the Gulf.

Iran's state television has issued a statement detailing the requirements for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to the broadcast, all passage through the strategic waterway must still be coordinated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The state TV also specified the safest transit routes: for vessels entering the Gulf, the recommended route is south of Iran's Hormuz Island. For vessels departing the Gulf, the safest route is south of Iran's Larak Island.

These statements underscore continued Iranian control over the chokepoint, though they do not indicate an immediate closure. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical passage for global oil shipments, and any disruption could affect energy markets.
