Bank Indonesia kept its benchmark rate unchanged at 5.75%, weighing on the rupiah. USD/IDR recovered daily losses and traded near 17,950 during European hours.

Bank Indonesia (BI) held its key interest rate at 5.75% in its latest decision, disappointing some market participants. The Indonesian rupiah lost ground against the US dollar following the announcement.

USD/IDR reversed earlier losses and traded around the 17,950 level during the European session on Wednesday. The pair’s rise reflects renewed selling pressure on the rupiah amid the unchanged rate stance from BI.
