Former Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi Killed in Hospital, Nephew Claims

Sadegh Kharrazi, a former Iranian diplomat, says his uncle Kamal Kharrazi was killed inside a hospital through 'infiltration' involving inhalation, contradicting earlier reports of an airstrike death.

Sadegh Kharrazi, a former Iranian diplomat, posted that his uncle Kamal Kharrazi—a former foreign minister and senior adviser to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—was killed inside a hospital. He described the method as "infiltration" and suggested it involved inhalation.

Iranian state media had previously reported on April 9 that Kamal Kharrazi died from injuries sustained in an airstrike on his home. The conflicting accounts have not been officially reconciled, and no immediate comment from Iranian authorities has been reported.

The incident adds uncertainty to Iran's political landscape, given Kharrazi's high-level advisory role. No direct market impact has been observed as of this writing.
