Australian Dollar Rises Above 0.7000 as Risk Aversion Eases

The Australian Dollar strengthened past the 0.7000 mark against the US Dollar on Monday amid reduced risk aversion, supported by comments from Iran's foreign minister that raised hopes of de-escalation and pushed oil prices lower.

The Australian Dollar (AUD) gained ground against the US Dollar (USD) on Monday, climbing above the 0.7000 level. The move was driven by an easing of risk sentiment after Iranian Foreign Minister Esmaeil Baghaei made remarks that suggested potential de-escalation in tensions involving Iran.

This development weighed on oil prices, which had recently touched one-month highs. Lower crude prices typically support risk-sensitive currencies like the Aussie, given Australia's trade exposure to energy and commodity markets.

The AUD/USD pair's recovery above 0.7000 marks a notable shift from earlier selling pressure, with traders reacting to the improved geopolitical backdrop.
