Asian Equities Mixed on US-Iran Tensions – Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank notes Asian equities are mostly lower as investors digest heightened US-Iran tensions and surging oil prices, with South Korea's KOSPI falling over 5% while mainland Chinese indices and the Hang Seng show gains.

Deutsche Bank's Jim Reid reports that Asian equity markets are reacting with a mixed tone to the sharp escalation in US-Iran tensions and the resulting surge in oil prices.

South Korea's KOSPI has dropped more than 5%, while Japan's Nikkei and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 are also trading lower. In contrast, mainland Chinese indices and Hong Kong's Hang Seng are firmer, supported by gains in technology stocks.

The geopolitical risk continues to weigh on investor sentiment, with energy price spikes adding to inflation concerns across the region.
