Apple Raises Mac and iPad Prices on Higher Chip Costs

Apple has raised prices on several Mac and iPad models, attributing the increases to higher chip costs. The company's CEO Tim Cook called the move "unavoidable" given the rising expense of components.

The following price changes were announced:

  • MacBook Air: +$200 to $1,299
  • Base MacBook Pro: +$300 to $1,999
  • Base MacBook Neo: +$100 to $699
  • iPad Air: +$150 to $749
  • iPad Pro: +$200 to $1,199

The adjustments affect both consumer and pro-grade devices, with the largest absolute increase applied to the entry-level MacBook Pro.
