U.S. Section 301 Tariffs Effective July 24, Goods in Transit by July 28

New U.S. Section 301 tariffs take effect July 24 at 12:01 a.m. ET, with goods in transit deadline July 28 as Section 122 tariffs expire.

A U.S. official confirmed that the new Section 301 tariffs will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. (0401 GMT) on July 24. Goods already in transit will have a separate effective date of 12:01 a.m. (0401 GMT) on July 28.

The announcement also notes that Section 122 tariffs will expire on July 24, coinciding with the implementation of the new tariffs. The timing creates a brief transition window for shipments already en route.
