US Launches Strikes on Iran in Response to Strait of Hormuz Attacks

U.S. Central Command has initiated a series of strikes against Iran following Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, citing violations of a ceasefire.

U.S. Central Command forces have begun a campaign of strikes against Iran, targeting sites linked to Iranian aggression against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The operation aims to impose costs for what Washington describes as unprovoked attacks on three merchant vessels crewed by civilians.

The strikes come in direct response to Iranian actions that the U.S. deems a clear violation of the existing ceasefire. No details on the scope or duration of the strikes have been released, but the move escalates tensions in a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments.
