UKMTO: Vessel Returns Fire, Suspect Vessels Disengage
The UK Maritime Trade Operations reports that a vessel deployed a security team and returned fire, after which suspect vessels disengaged and moved over four nautical miles away. The crew is safe.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an incident in which a vessel deployed its onboard security team and returned fire against suspect vessels. Following the engagement, the suspect vessels disengaged and are now more than four nautical miles from the vessel.
The crew of the affected vessel are reported safe. UKMTO advises all vessels to transit with caution in the area.
