UAC Head: Russian Aircraft Could Dominate Domestic Fleet, Output Surges

The head of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) stated that Russian-made planes could account for up to 100% of the country's air fleet, with a realistic target of producing about 500 aircraft over 10–12 years. He also noted a 4-5 fold increase in combat aircraft output since 2022 and progress on several key programs.

In an interview with TASS ahead of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the head of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) said that domestically produced aircraft could eventually occupy up to 100% of the country's air fleet. He described the production of roughly 500 aircraft over 10–12 years as realistic.

The UAC chief confirmed that all payment issues arising from sanctions have been resolved. He expects certification for the Il-114-300 regional turboprop to be received shortly, and certification flights for the SJ-100 (Superjet) are set to be completed this summer. Deliveries of the Tu-214 passenger jet have already begun.

On the military side, Russia is building a prototype of the Checkmate light fighter. The output of new combat aircraft has increased by 4-5 times since 2022, according to the executive.
