Trump Threatens 100% Tariff on European Countries Over Digital Services Tax

President Donald Trump warned European nations considering a Digital Services Tax on US companies that any such move would be met with a 100% tariff on all goods exported to the United States, overriding existing trade deals.

President Donald Trump issued a warning on Truth Social regarding the Digital Services Tax (DST) that several European countries are reportedly close to implementing on American companies.

Trump stated that any nation imposing such a tax would immediately face a 100% tariff on all goods sent to the United States. The tariff would supersede any existing trade agreements, whether signed or not, and take effect immediately if the DST is enacted.

The statement signals an escalation in trade tensions between the US and Europe, as the DST targets major US tech firms. Markets may react to increased uncertainty in transatlantic trade relations.
