Trump Criticizes Italy's Meloni Over Iran Stance, Runway Refusal

In a Truth Social post, former U.S. President Donald Trump attacked Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, accusing her of repeatedly seeking a photo with him at the G-7 summit and of previously denying the U.S. use of Italian runways during operations against Iran's nuclear program.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni asked repeatedly for a photo with him during the G-7 meeting in France. Trump claimed Meloni's popularity in Italy is suffering, possibly because she refused U.S. requests related to denying Iran a nuclear weapon, including not allowing the use of Italian landing strips or runways.

Trump stated that the U.S. contributes hundreds of billions of dollars annually to protect Italy and other NATO allies, and that Meloni's stance created a 'great logistical inconvenience.' He added that now, after the U.S. defeated Iran militarily, Meloni seeks to be friends again to boost her approval numbers. Trump concluded 'No thanks!!!'
