Sberbank Executive: Agent AI Could Strengthen Market Concentration Around Major Platforms

Sberbank First Deputy Chairman Alexander Vedyakhin said that the development of agent AI may increase market concentration around the largest platforms, while also creating opportunities for new AI-native companies.

SBER

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF), Sberbank First Deputy Chairman Alexander Vedyakhin told Kommersant that the agent AI market is shifting from standalone AI products to a platform model. He argued that future competition will take place not between individual applications but between ecosystems where AI agents can operate fully.

At the same time, Vedyakhin noted that the agent economy lowers the barrier to launching digital services and opens up specialized solutions and niches. He expects the market to simultaneously see a strengthening of major platforms and a rise in new AI-native companies built around agent models from the start.
