Pentagon Delayed Iran Strike Announcement Until After Market Close

The US Pentagon reportedly held off announcing strikes on Iran until after the US stock market closed at 4 PM ET on Friday to minimize market disruption.

According to a report from NBC News, the Pentagon deliberately delayed the public announcement of US strikes on Iran until after the close of US equity markets on Friday. The 4 PM ET timing was chosen to, in the Pentagon's words, "reduce the immediate impact on financial markets."

This decision highlights the growing awareness among US officials of the potential market sensitivity to geopolitical events, particularly those involving major oil-producing regions. The delay allowed traders to digest the news over the weekend rather than reacting in real time during active trading hours.
