PBOC Sets USD/CNY Fix at 6.8195, Higher vs Previous

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY central rate at 6.8195 on Wednesday, up from 6.8171 the prior day and above a Reuters estimate of 6.7913.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) fixed the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.8195 for Wednesday's trading session, compared to 6.8171 on Tuesday. The new fix also came in above the Reuters estimate of 6.7913.

The central bank's daily fixing guides the onshore yuan's trading band within a 2% range on either side. The slight increase suggests a marginal depreciation bias for the yuan against the dollar.
