New Zealand Dollar Jumps to Three-Week High After Hawkish RBNZ Rate Hike

NZD/USD rallied 1% on Thursday, extending its second consecutive day of gains after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand delivered a hawkish rate hike. A softer US dollar also supported the pair.

The New Zealand dollar surged to a three-week high against the US dollar on Thursday, following the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's hawkish monetary policy decision on Wednesday.

NZD/USD jumped 1% in the session, building on the previous day's advance. The RBNZ raised interest rates by a larger-than-expected margin, signaling further tightening ahead. Meanwhile, broad US dollar weakness provided additional tailwinds for the kiwi.
