Indian Rupee Edges Higher Against Dollar Despite Surging US Yields

The Indian Rupee strengthened slightly on Thursday, pushing USD/INR down near 95.60, even as US Treasury yields climbed.

USDINR

The Indian Rupee showed resilience in early Thursday trading, ticking higher against the US dollar. The USD/INR pair slipped to around 95.60, defying a backdrop of rising US Treasury yields that typically support the greenback.

Yields on US government bonds advanced further, a move that often lifts the dollar against emerging-market currencies. However, the rupee managed to hold its ground, suggesting local factors or positioning may be offsetting global rate pressures.

Traders will watch for further action in the pair, with the rupee’s ability to gain despite external headwinds hinting at near-term strength.
