Hezbollah Accepts US Ceasefire with Israel, Iran Warns of Escalation

Lebanon says Hezbollah accepted a US proposal for a mutual ceasefire with Israel, halting strikes on Beirut's southern suburb and attacks on Israel. Iran warns that US-backed Israeli actions in Lebanon and Gaza will strengthen the Axis of Resistance, potentially activating other fronts and disrupting key shipping straits.

Lebanon announced that Hezbollah has agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire proposal, under which Israel will stop airstrikes on the Dahiya district in southern Beirut, and Hezbollah will cease attacks on Israel.

Iran responded by stating that US-supported Israeli operations in Lebanon and Gaza will only bolster the resolve of the Axis of Resistance. Tehran warned that additional fronts could be activated and that movement through the Bab el-Mandeb strait might be organized in a manner similar to the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The development follows weeks of escalating cross-border hostilities and raises the risk of broader regional disruption to energy and trade routes.
