Ethereum Internal Split Deepens: Over 8 Core Developers Leave Foundation

Amid a prolonged price sideways move for Ethereum, the community’s focus has shifted from network upgrades to ecosystem problems. Despite record staking levels, over eight core developers have left the Ethereum Foundation in the past year, highlighting an internal rift.

The Ethereum ecosystem is facing a deepening internal crisis, according to a recent analysis. While ETH staking participation has hit new highs, the community's attention has turned from upcoming network upgrades to the project's structural issues.

Over the past year, more than eight core developers have departed the Ethereum Foundation, signaling a split within the organization. The conflict involves tokenomics, governance, and personnel, with disagreements between institutional visions for the second-largest cryptocurrency and the uncompromising stance of co-founder Vitalik Buterin. Additionally, early ICO-era investors have been selling ETH, adding to the pressure.

These developments suggest a systemic crisis affecting both the project's development team and its broader community alignment.
