Earnings and Fed keep equity risk balanced, says Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank strategists observed mixed global equity performance as the S&P 500 slipped for a second week while European and some Asian markets gained, and US futures ticked higher.

Global equities delivered a mixed weekly performance, according to Deutsche Bank strategists. The S&P 500 posted a second consecutive weekly decline, though semiconductor shares staged a recovery.

European and select Asian markets outperformed, providing some offset to the U.S. weakness. Meanwhile, U.S. equity futures moved higher at the start of the new period.

The bank noted that the balance between corporate earnings and Federal Reserve policy expectations is keeping risk sentiment in check for now.
