BoC July Minutes Flag Two-Sided Risks, Inflation Worries – TD

TD Securities strategists highlighted that the Bank of Canada’s July Summary of Deliberations struck a balanced tone. The Bank observed the economy is adjusting to recent shocks and expects growth to strengthen going forward.

However, policymakers expressed concern that medium-term inflation expectations could drift, presenting a two-sided risk. The minutes suggest the BoC remains watchful of both growth and inflation dynamics.
