AUD/USD Slips Below 0.7000 as Dollar Gains on Fed Repricing, Iran Talks

The Australian dollar fell below 0.7000 on Monday, pressured by a stronger US dollar as markets repriced Fed expectations and weighed ongoing US-Iran talks in Switzerland.

AUDUSD

The Australian dollar weakened against the US dollar on Monday, with the AUD/USD pair slipping below the psychologically important 0.7000 level. The move came as the US dollar index (DXY) gained 0.24%, supported by a repricing of Federal Reserve policy expectations.

Market participants also cited the ongoing round of talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland as a factor underpinning the greenback. The Australian dollar fell 0.15% on the day, leaving the pair poised to retest lower levels.

Traders are now watching for further cues on Fed policy and geopolitical developments, as the Aussie remains sensitive to risk sentiment and commodity price moves.
