AI Driving More Unpaid Overtime, Not Less Work: ADP Survey
A new ADP survey of over 39,000 workers across 36 markets finds that AI users are experiencing more unpaid overtime, not less, while job security and engagement concerns persist.
A 2026 workplace study from ADP, based on responses from more than 39,000 workers across 36 global markets, challenges the notion that artificial intelligence reduces workloads. According to the survey, employees who use AI report higher levels of unpaid overtime rather than a lighter workload.
Concerns about job security and workplace engagement also remain elevated among respondents, suggesting that the adoption of AI has not yet translated into improved work-life balance or greater job stability.
