Plus500 Is Building a US ‘Super-App’ and Buying a Broker to Stock the Shelves

Plus500 plans to launch a US super-app in Q1 2027 covering futures, prediction markets, stocks, options and ETFs, and has conditionally agreed to buy SEC-regulated broker-dealer Hedge Capital Markets.

Plus500 will launch a single US "super-app" in the first quarter of 2027 and has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets, a US broker-dealer registered with the SEC and a member of FINRA, to supply the regulated base for the product.

The planned application will bring futures, prediction markets, stocks, options, ETFs and other SEC-regulated products into one interface running on Plus500's proprietary technology. The London-listed broker said US retail investors currently have to move between multiple providers, apps and accounts to trade across asset classes. It described the app as a core strategic priority backed by dedicated R&D resources, and expects it to lift engagement, retention and monetisation before extending it to further geographies.

New York hub alongside Chicago operations

Plus500 has established a New York hub that will work alongside its Chicago operations, with Hedge personnel joining the New York team. Chief executive David Zruia said the acquisition "paves the way" for the launch, adding: "With our new hub in New York and the experienced Hedge team joining us, we have the people, licences and technology to accelerate our growth." He said the deal provides "for the first time, direct access to the US securities market."

Hedge was founded in 2021 by Kyle Al-Rawi and Yash Khandelwal and offers US retail investors access to exchange-listed securities including stocks and ETFs. It is a member of SIPC. Plus500 will fund the purchase entirely from existing cash, which stood above $860 million on 30 June 2026. Closing is subject to customary conditions, including the expiry of a notice period and FINRA approval under Rule 1017.

Plus500 already operates in the US under CFTC regulation, providing clearing and execution for futures and prediction markets to retail and institutional clients. It launched prediction markets for US retail customers under its Plus500 Futures brand, including contracts from Kalshi, and has been selected as clearing partner for the prediction market launched by CME and FanDuel. In the first half of 2025, it reported revenue growth of 4% to $415.1 million, driven by its futures expansion.

The move places Plus500 alongside other CFD brokers pursuing super-app strategies. CMC Markets has set out a three-phase roadmap starting with a multi-asset platform in the UK and ending with payments and banking products, while NAGA, Swissquote, Tradu and XTB have pushed their own plans or launched versions. XTB chief executive Omar Arnaout has said the ambition is an all-in-one super app, at a time when CFDs still made up 98% of the company's revenue.
