One Account for Crypto, Stocks and Stock Options: When Consolidation Pays

Binance now offers options on more than 1,000 US stocks and ETFs inside the same account as spot crypto, tokenized bStocks and perpetual futures, charging $0.60 per contract.

Binance now offers options on more than 1,000 US stocks and ETFs to eligible users outside the United States, placing equity derivatives in the same account as spot crypto, tokenized bStocks and perpetual futures. The exchange is presenting the launch as a step toward a fuller multi-asset offering rather than a standalone product.

Contracts can be funded from Funding, Spot or Flexible Earn balances denominated in USDC, USDT, USD1, U or BNB. Binance charges a $0.60 commission per contract and applies no spread to USDC/USD conversion. Settlement cycles are unchanged: sale proceeds settle T+1 and, until then, can be used to fund spot or TradFi trades but not futures, margin or withdrawals.

"Stock options are an important next step in Binance's evolution into a fuller multi-asset platform," said Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance. He said the addition expands the tools available to users who want equity market exposure and strategies historically offered only through traditional brokers, "all from one Binance account." In a Bloomberg interview, Jan added: "We are just giving what our users want and giving more choices."

Where split accounts cost money

The pitch rests on capital efficiency. Charles Schwab's 2025 Modern Wealth Survey found roughly 35% of American investors own crypto, with digital assets averaging 10% of portfolios. Keeping those holdings on separate platforms carries costs that never appear as a fee line: M1 investors held 4.1% of portfolios in cash on average at the end of June 2026, a balance M1 itself calls cash drag, while Foresight News estimates that moving from a broker to a bank to an exchange can take two to three business days. US brokers now also report digital asset sales on Form 1099-DA alongside 1099-B.

Binance says usage already overlaps. In July, 58.5% of bStocks holders also traded perpetual futures, direct equities, or all three, according to the company.

Not every investor wants a single venue. In the same Schwab survey, 46% preferred multiple portfolios alongside a main account, against 39% who keep one portfolio per goal. SIPC covers traditional US brokerage accounts up to $500,000, including $250,000 in cash, but states it does not protect unregistered digital asset securities. Cboe reported rising activity among retail options accounts under $25,000 in the second quarter of 2026 and said the repeal of the Pattern Day Trader rule "may have been a contributing factor"; the SEC approved replacing the $25,000 minimum on April 14, 2026, effective June 4.
