OANDA's Global Marketing Chief Joins FXTM

FXTM has appointed Darren Moffett, who ran global marketing at rival OANDA for nearly five years, as chief marketing officer. He will work from London and lead brand and client growth.

FXTM has appointed Darren Moffett as chief marketing officer, handing the role to a marketer who spent close to five years running global marketing at rival broker OANDA. Moffett will be based in FXTM's London office and will oversee brand, proposition development and client value growth, the company said.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Moffett led campaigns at OANDA until August. His move comes after FXTM gave up its UK licence in April and upgraded to full broker status in the United Arab Emirates, a shift that reshapes where the company's London presence sits within its wider structure. Parent group Exinity says its brands serve more than two million clients across over 150 countries.

Background in trading and beyond

Moffett joined OANDA in October 2021. In September 2023 the broker signed footballer Robert Lewandowski as its first global brand ambassador, a deal Moffett linked to OANDA's "smarter trading" positioning. He also fronted the firm's push into prop trading, telling FinanceMagnates.com in October 2024 that most of that unit's traffic arrived through organic search and direct visits. His tenure spanned a change of ownership: private equity firm CVC agreed in February 2025 to sell OANDA to prop trading firm FTMO, and by June 2026 FTMO's co-founders held co-chief executive roles at the broker. His profile also lists a board seat at Coinpass, OANDA's crypto business.

Much of his career sits outside retail trading. Before OANDA he handled performance and content marketing at News UK, publisher of The Times and The Sun, and spent five years as chief marketing officer of gambling operator Rank Group. Earlier posts included head of customer relationship management at bookmaker Ladbrokes and vice president of digital marketing at Canadian lender BMO.

FXTM chief executive Chafic Badr said Moffett's "strong track record in building compelling brand propositions and delivering customer growth" fits the expansion FXTM is pursuing. Exinity group chief executive Olga Rybalkina said his career path "sets him apart from many in our industry," tying the hire to changes in the media landscape. Exinity has recruited from outside the sector before, bringing in group CFO Punit Ghumra from payments firm Hubpay in 2024.

FXTM was founded in 2011, while Andrey Dashin launched Exinity in 2020 with hubs in Dubai, Limassol, London and Hong Kong. The group's regulatory list covers the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market, the UAE Capital Market Authority, and authorities in Kenya, Mauritius and South Africa, with no UK entry.
