Introducing Ready-made Plans

Lightyear introduces three risk-based investment plans managed by BlackRock and Vanguard, aiming to simplify investing for both beginners and experienced investors.

European broker Lightyear has rolled out a new product called Ready-made Plans, designed to simplify investing by offering three pre-built portfolios managed by fund giants BlackRock and Vanguard.

The three plans vary by risk level:

  • Moderate Mix — an actively managed fund investing in a blend of stocks and bonds.
  • Growth Group — an actively managed fund with a higher allocation to equities alongside bonds.
  • All-World Wonder — a passively managed fund providing broad exposure to global equities.

Each plan invests directly into a single underlying fund from BlackRock or Vanguard. Users choose the plan that matches their risk tolerance, set up automatic contributions, and the portfolio runs in the background without further input.

The move targets two distinct investor groups. For experienced investors who prefer a hands-off approach but have previously relied on expensive private banking or wealth management services, Ready-made Plans aim to offer a lower-cost alternative with no high entry minimums. For newcomers, Lightyear points to a gap: 65% of Europeans have long-term financial goals, yet only 15% actively invest. The firm says the complexity of choosing from thousands of stocks and funds often causes paralysis, and Ready-made Plans reduce the decision to a single question about risk comfort.

Capital at risk. Lightyear does not provide investment advice; users should conduct their own research before investing.
