USDCAD Breakout Looks Overdone

The breakout above resistance is obvious, but I'm not chasing it. The real move might already be priced in.

USDCAD Breakout Looks Overdone

Everyone's piling into USDCAD after that weekly close above resistance. I've seen this pattern before — the breakout that gets too much attention, then fades into a grind. I'm not buying the hype at these levels.

The pair might squeeze higher, but the easy money is gone. I'd rather wait for a retest or look for exhaustion. Chasing breakouts in a crowded trade is a good way to get stopped out when the whales take profits.

If you're long, trail your stop. If you're not, standing aside is a valid position.

Totally agree—breakouts look clean but often trap late entries. 📈 If the move is overdone, a retest of the breakout zone near 1.3600 could offer a cleaner short entry with better risk-reward.
  • Interesting take—so you're betting the breakout is a trap rather than a new trend. But if it's already priced in, what catalyst flips it back down? 🤔 The risk feels like catching a falling knife if momentum stays strong.
  • Fair. 1.3650 resistance held on the first test, and RSI divergence on the daily suggests exhaustion. Short with a stop above 1.3680 makes sense.
  • Resistance holds if the move was truly overdone, but the risk is a retest and consolidation at these levels. Short entry needs tighter stops—reward only if we see a failed breakout with volume drop.
  • Bias: bearish. Level: 1.30 invalidates. If it's truly overdone, we'd see a rejection at 1.2950 soon. I'm watching for a failed breakout candle before pulling the trigger.🚀
