Trump Hails Supreme Court Decision Overturning Humphrey's Executor as Win for Presidential Power

President Trump celebrated the Supreme Court's decision in the 'Slaughter Case,' which overturned the Humphrey's Executor rule, calling it a major victory for presidential power. He also noted a defeat on birthright citizenship, vowing to work with Congress.

In a post on Truth Social, President Donald J. Trump described the Supreme Court's ruling in the "Slaughter Case" as "the biggest and most consequential Decision issued by the Court." The decision overturns the Humphrey's Executor rule, which had limited presidential power over independent agencies for nearly a century. Trump framed the ruling as a restoration of power to the presidency, a battle dating back to Franklin D. Roosevelt's attempt to "pack the Court."

Trump acknowledged a separate loss on birthright citizenship, stating he will "work to correct" that through Congress. He praised the Republican Party's treatment by the Supreme Court, concluding that "the big SLAUGHTER, was SLAUGHTER." The post reflects the president's interpretation of the court's impact on executive authority.
