Strait of Hormuz Expected to Reopen After Agreement; Vance and Ghalibaf to Attend Signing

U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf are expected to attend a signing ceremony, after which the Strait of Hormuz would reopen to shipping without anchoring restrictions and the blockade on Iranian ports would be lifted.

According to reports, U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf are slated to participate in a signing ceremony. The agreement is expected to lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic without anchoring restrictions, while the blockade on Iranian ports is reportedly set to be lifted.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, and a reopening would ease supply concerns that have supported crude prices. The lifting of port blockades could further increase Iranian oil exports, adding to global supply.

Market participants are watching closely for confirmation and details of the agreement, which could prompt a sharp decline in oil prices if implemented as indicated.
