Schiff: US Debt Nears $40T with No Easy Fix

Economist Peter Schiff warns that the U.S. national debt, now approaching $40 trillion, has no easy solution and compares it to a Ponzi scheme.

Economist and gold advocate Peter Schiff has renewed his criticism of U.S. fiscal policy, arguing that the federal government's debt trajectory is unsustainable. As the national debt approaches $40 trillion, Schiff described it as a "giant Ponzi scheme" and cautioned that no simple fix remains available.

Schiff's comments echo longstanding concerns over rising deficits and the growing burden of interest payments. The debt milestone, if reached, would mark another record for the U.S. economy, intensifying debates over fiscal responsibility and potential policy responses.
